What’s the Real Scoop?
Many People have different feelings on Detoxing and you can get many different opinions and answers if you ask around about detoxing.
So what is detoxing Anyway?
Well, it is the body’s way of flushing out the stored gunk so it can function better and in a more harmonious way.
It is one of the best and most natural ways to keep the body functioning at peak performance.
However, with todays world it is not always possible for the body to detox like it is meant to do.
It starts to build up sludge and over time it can really start to reek havoc on one’s body, organs, mind and over all health.
In these instances it is important for us to give it a hand in coming back to Balance and Homeostasis.
That is we need to help it with it’s detoxing phase.
How we do this is what is important.
This is where we will get many different answers.
1 person will tell you that our body can detox on it’s own and we should not interfere. And this is correct if we have been eating healthy all along and have not built up a residue of sludge.
1 person will tell you that there are many different drinks and pills that you can take to help you detox. And there are. However none of them are natural and healthy. They start to purge the body of things before it is ready to start the detoxing phase it self.
1 person, or hopefully the majority of people (like me), will tell you to help you body out by turning on it’s natural detoxing system.
And that is what I want to talk to you about.
It isn’t about taking supplements or drinks, it is about learning to eat so your body’s natural detoxing system kicks in.
To do this you need to do a couple of things.
- Stop over loading the body:
- Give it space to detox
You can do this by:
- Changing the way you eat
- Getting plenty of rest
- Get as much exercise as needed for you so your digestive system is healthy and functioning
Changing the Way you Eat
Going back to the basics is the best way for those that are not sure what to do. For most people (who do not have underlying health conditions that could be aggravated by this) it is to go into a diet that is full of fruits, vegetables and healthy protein source. As well as many herbs and healthy oils.
Going back to the basics can help your purge chemicals, preservatives and processed foods that that are causing inflammation with-in the digestive system as well ass in other organs also.

Depending on how long your body has been storing instead of detoxing will depend on how long it will take to reverse the affects.
To do this you can do it two different ways:
- You can continue clean basic eating until you feel that you body is re-balanced and homeostasis is regained. This could take 6-12 months in some cases.
- You can do basic eating for 1 week every month to help give your system a break. This is a great choice for those that just need a little help or to keep the system cleaned after a longer detoxing plan like #1
Gut health is so important and one of the ways we can bring its health back to it is to make sure that there is limited inflammation by making sure the body is properly detoxing.
Detoxing also helps to make sure there is not build up in the liver, kidneys, blood and other parts of the body and systems.
